Patch Battle For Middle Earth 1
Im trying to play Battle for Middle Earth 1 on my laptop with a Windows 7 operating system. I have everything required to play the game except theo/s is wrong.
Hi All, After months of beta testing, polishing, late nights, and abusing Echelon 1.08 has finally arrived. This is without question the largest patch we've ever done, and we hope you have fun with it I would like to extend a personal thanks to Archangel & Echelon for helping with testing, and to Ridder Geel @ Revora for doing my Dwarven Art request. Patch Switcher now Version 1.6 For non-widescreen users there is one additional step to do. 1)Go to C: Program Files (x86) BFME2PatchSwitcher 108 2)Replace the BT2DC-v1.08w with the one in this 3)Apply 106 in switcher, then back to 108, then play! Patch Switcher Switch between all three commonly played patches in one button 200 New Maps -A plethora of new maps, including all the CE maps, all in amazing detail such as below.
Patch 108 also includes around 70 tower wars maps for those who like to play on these. Balance -All your favorite factions have had some tuning, see the huge changelog below. Note that Patch 108 is the result of 7 years worth of balancing done by the best players in clanwars.cc. Widescreen Support Patch 108 has a high res, unstretched user interface.
The Palantir, hero selections icons, builder icons have all been adapted to work on widescreen monitors. Example below. Patch 1.06 stretched Palantir whilst playing on a widescreen monitor. Patch 1.08 high res unstretched Palantir whilst playing on a widescreen monitor Extended Zoom for all Maps Patch 106 Zoom-fort takes up your entire screen. Patch 108 Zoom-an extended view where players have greater visibility and the game looks much sharper Collectors Edition Features are now Enabled -No need to spend a million dollars on the CE anymore Barrage -Blue Barrage Summoned Dragon -Smaug is now the model used for Goblin's Summon Dragon Mumakil Mumakil will gain the CE Model at level 5 Attack Trolls Attack Troll's will gain a new weapon at Level 5 Eagles and Tornado The normal Brown Eagles compared to the CE White Eagles, and Galadriels Tornado by comparison. Men Of The West -Ranger Summon lifetime now 90s, from 120s -Rangers normal and fire weapons now deal 90% to WitchKing dismounted -Added Shield Bubble Sound -Gandalf Lightning Sword cooldown from 180s to 210s -Gandalf Word Of Power Shockwave increased -Gandalf Lightning Sword now deals 75% vs forts -Added new Gandalf Death animation -Added two new Gandalf Death sounds -Theoden Glorious Charge modifier from 200% damage 99% armor, to 80% armor 0% crush deceleration. All my special BfMEII maps are designed to suit The Special Extended Edition - Director's Cut, most of my work has been in upgrading the existing maps. It just wouldn't fit in with the rest of the maps here (different view angles, taller trees and apart from the two I have considered making public, custom objects);p But perhaps we can make a deal. I would like to know what you have done with the maps in this community patch (I know how to look at them myself and would like to be able to use the balancing and bug fixing ideas - perhaps a base was moved slightly or some rocks were moved).

Hmm all's we did with maps was remove the Rocks near the Cave Trolls on fords of isen, because they created obstacles for the treasure chests. Sometimes chests would spawn on the rocks, making them unobtainable. Towers on Buckland gone, and cleaned up Udun a bit. And I changed Cair Andros to be less campy and more of a balanced map. Thats pretty much it!! I really enjoyed the maps in the lone wolf mod but its bfme1. Definitely something that we are lacking!
Should also note that Neutral Cave Trolls dont fear anymore, because often it would create an awful permanent fear bug especially for Dwarves since they creep early game. The impact on balance was just too much. This post has been edited by Val`: Nov 18 2013, 02:00 AM.
